1 - Define It!

  • Distinguish between long-term and short-term goals – create both!
  • Describe your goal in as much detail as you can.
  • Frame your intention with positive language
  • Describe why this is important to you? How will it change your life?
  • How long will it take to accomplish? Be as realistic as you can.
  • Is this a SMART goal?

2 – Commit to It!

  • Do you have enough enthusiasm to commit to achieving this goal? Is it important enough?
  • What will your life be like when you accomplish it? Tell a story.
  • How will you know when you’ve achieved it?
  • How will others know you’ve achieved it?

3 – Examine limitations and obstacles

  • What’s stopping you from achieving your goals?
  • What resources do you need?
  • What difficulties do you expect to encounter?

4 – Create a detailed action plan.

  • Chunk it down – break each task into smaller, more managable tasks.
  • Develop a targeted action plan – what are the major steps involved? How will you divide them up into smaller steps?
  • Take action every day, no matter how small.
